History

Founded in 1969 by Byron Haining Jr. as a real estate brokerage and pre-panelized homebuilding company, Vision Inc. saw tremendous growth throughout the 70’s employing up to 100 workers on the crew during the summer months. In addition to building homes all over the state, a large focus of their market was building condos at Sugarloaf Mountain, Saddleback Mountain, Beaver Cove on Moosehead Lake, and Rockport Harbor.

By the mid 80’s, once Byron’s son Gregg had taken over managing the construction operations, the focus shifted to the custom home market mainly in the Midcoast area. In 1989 Vision Builders Inc. was formed with Gregg as president and sole owner; it assumed all construction related activities leaving Vision Inc. solely as a real estate and property management firm.

For the past 35+ years, Vision Builders has been involved with hundreds of projects of varying sizes and complexity, with our niche in building new custom homes and major renovations. This has allowed us to forge relationships with many local architects and designers, along with developing valued relationships with most of the local banks and real estate brokers.
